President’s Message from Chef John Bell, CEC

Chef John Bell, CECAs the holiday season goes into full swing, many of us become overwhelmed with work, banquets, family and trying to juggle everything. I’d like to wish each Gulf to Lakes and all ACF members a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

I am excited to be back in Florida and blessed to lead as President of our local chapter.

We have some exciting things coming up in the near future and with Chef Tim Hobbs stepping up as VP I believe great things will arise.

Over the past few years our chapter has stayed steady. But we need to step up and reach out to grow. The ACF is a organization that represents our craft and each of us has gained something through our connections and certification. We need to give back to our students, community and the next generation.

Meetings are only effective with everyone involved; in November we had a great fermentation demo with Chef John Woods at The Villages High School and those there enjoyed learning and catching up with other members.

Next month, I look forward to seeing everyone as we start a new exciting year January 12th at 6pm , Chef Instructor Nicole Austin will host at Eustis High School.

In closing, I will use a part of a famous quote
Ask not what ACF can do for you, but what we can do for ACF.

Remember as we have enjoyed a blessed career and others have shared their knowledge we must share ours.
