Message from Chef Jeff Rotz, CEC, CCE, AAC

Friends, I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to represent our chapter as your President. Effective 1 November I will resign the leadership role.  It is important that we have new leaders and fresh ideas to keep our chapter moving forward.  Saying this we need to elect a new president at our October meeting.  We also need to elect a Vice-President.  If you are willing to step up to take a leadership role, please contact me.  We are fortunate to have Chef Ken Koenig, CCC, CCE as our Treasure and Chef Ken Pitts, CEC as our Secretary.  I am hoping that they will be willing to continue in their respective roles. Our chapter continues to grow slowly, however our meeting have been stagnate lately.  Attendance is dropping and enthusiasm is not where it I think it should be.  We need to “shake the bushes” and bring back our past members and attract new member.  We need to show our current members the importance of our Chapter and the ACF. I want to thank Chef Nicole Austin; Chef Matthew Dennis, CEC; and Chef John Bell, CEC for there continued involvement with “Feeding Those Less Fortunate.” Chef Bell has already made a commitment to the Christian Care Center to provide support the second Saturday of each month starting on September 13th.   We started this service to our community many years ago with Chef Rick Perez, CEC, AAC.  Rick introduced us to the center and he provided support both physically and financial. Since then, we have had a great relationship since. These are just a few of things we do to help the community. We also provide scholarships and grants to our members for their education and training.  We need to enhance of Certification program. I think we need to get back to conduct practical cooking evaluations and providing training and support to help ensure our members are successful in their  “Pathway to Certification.”  I am available to provide guidance and help arrange mandatory courses towards certification. New leadership with fresh ideas with ensure continuous growth. Please attend our next meeting at Lake Technical College on October 13th. As usual the meeting will start at 6 PM.  Lake Technical College is located at 2001 Kurt Street, Eustis, Florida.  You can contact Chef Koenig for more information at  Please, please come out and support our outstanding chapter. Thanks for all of your support over the years, Jeff
